Town set to host the fair - SLATINA In the historical and civilizational terms the development of Slatina was marked by the following important events:

• The first traces of settlement of this area date back to ancient times, when settlement Marinianis was founded in this region on the famous Roman road that led from Ptuj to Mursa (Osijek). Here was found a Roman coin from the fourth century - the period of the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great 306-337 A.D.
• In the historical sources the name of the town of Slatina, in the Hungarian pronunciation ‘Zalathnuk’, was for the first time mentioned in the document of Mihovil, bishop of Zagreb, issued on September 1, 1297 in Požega.
• Within a historical framework, it is important to mention the period under Ottoman rule which lasted from 1543 to 1684. This period was marked by the change of population structure and deterioration in terms of civilization.
• Economic take-off and intense development begins with the arrival of the family Pejačević in Slatina (in 1750) who enhanced this entire region in economic and cultural terms. At their request, in 1808 Slatina was declared a market by the Emperor Francis I, and thus the foundations of its future economic development were laid. Slatina became a prominent economic location of the former K & K monarchy.
• In 1841 Slatina was owned by a respectable family of Schaumburg- Lippe that significantly accelerated the development of Slatina and created a foundation for the development of crafts and trade. Many hotels were built in that period and the cultural level of the lives of Slatina citizens advanced. The first champagne (sparkling wine) in our country was produced at that time in Slatina in 1864.
• One of the most important moments of our town are the events that took place during the Homeland War in 1991 when a large number of our patriots, being part of the 136th Brigade, participated in the defense of the town and the wider region, thus contributing to the creation of autonomous and independent Croatian Republic, and preserving cultural and civilizational values that we as a nation and individuals inherited over the centuries. A great responsibility lies on all of us to create brighter and better future for all citizens of Slatina on the basis of these historical events.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Union of Croatian Innovators (UIH) and the town of Slatina, in cooperation with Virovitica - Podravina County and the Croatian Community of Technological Culture, will organize the 3rd International Fair of innovations, new ideas, products and technologies in agriculture and food industry, „AGRO ARCA 2010”, in Slatina from 7/05 to 9/05, 2010.

The results of the 2nd International Fair AGRO ARCA 2009 confirmed the justification of its organization and the importance for the development and promotion of agriculture and the economy as a whole. In the exhibition area larger than 3000 m2 were 133 exhibitors with more than 280 innovations, new products and technologies. Over 300 participants took part in expert meetings. More than six thousand visitors visited and toured the fair.

Along with Croatian exhibitors performed the exhibitors from the Czech Republic - partner country, Hungary, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia who drew great attention of visitors by their products.

For the past period of time, sponsorship of the organization of this important economic project was accepted by the Ministry of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, and Ministry of Science, Education and Sports.

The fair „AGRO ARCA 2010” in Slatina is an opportunity to all business people from Croatia and abroad to learn about the latest developments in agriculture and food industry, as well as the latest achievements in ecological food production all in one place.
